Loïs Openda rescues Lyon as Troyes beat Lorient
Openda saved Lyon against Le Havre, while Troyes secured their first Ligue 1 win by beating Lorient 2-1.
Loïs Openda spared Lyon a home defeat against Le Havre, while Troyes claimed their first Ligue 1 victory of the season at Lorient. The results left Lyon with a frustrating draw after chasing a second successive win and gave Troyes an early boost in their fight for points.
Le Havre took the lead in the 74th minute when Samatta headed past Lyon goalkeeper Greif. Openda levelled nine minutes later, finishing after a corner from Abner and a mistake by goalkeeper Mpasi. The visitors appeared to snatch the win in stoppage time through Nakamura, but the goal was disallowed for handball. Lyon had earlier seen a Tolisso effort ruled out for offside.
Troyes built their victory before half-time at the Moustoir. Renaud Ripart converted a penalty in the 29th minute, and Lucas Maronnier added a second nine minutes later following a quick attack. Lorient reduced the deficit through Jean-Victor Makengo in the 51st minute, but Troyes held on.
Lorient began the match 10th with one point from one game, while Troyes were 13th on the same total. Lorient had won four of their previous five matches in the supplied form, whereas Troyes had recorded three wins and two defeats. The win moves Troyes beyond their opening-day return and ends Lorient’s chance to build immediately on their one-point start.
